Careers

We have vacancies within our Protein Engineering, Cell Biology and Development groups, available to either scientist or senior scientist level applicants.  These posts will suit dynamic and motivated individuals who are keen to work within this exciting new area of research.  You must have an MSc or PhD, or at least 2 years’ experience of working in an academic or industrial research lab environment.

PROTEIN ENGINEERING

MOLECULAR BIOLOGIST / PROTEIN BIOCHEMIST
Ideal candidates for this role will additionally have experience with protein expression and purification.  The ability to measure protein-protein interactions by BIAcore is desirable but not essential, as in-house training can be provided.

PHAGE DISPLAY SCIENTIST / SENIOR SCIENTIST
Ideal candidates for this role will additionally have experience with construction and use of phage or alternative display libraries; screening and hit characterisation.  Experience with RACE would be an advantage.

Both posts are likely to suit those with a background or strong interest in Immunology and require a broad knowledge of general cloning techniques including site-directed mutagenesis.

CELL BIOLOGY

PRECLINICAL SCIENTIST / SENIOR SCIENTIST
This role is required to produce safety and specificity data to allow candidate TCRs to progress into clinical trials: rigorous data analysis and reporting are essential to form the pre-clinical packages that will be submitted to regulatory bodies.  Previous experience of primary cell culture, 3D cell culture, assay development, ELISpot/ELISA and flow cytometry would be advantageous but is not essential.

SENIOR RESEARCH SCIENTIST
We need an experienced T cell biologist to work on the next generation of T cell products, researching ways to improve the efficacy, safety and long term survival of therapeutic T cells in vivo.  Suitable candidates will have in-depth knowledge of human T cell phenotypes and functions, with a track record in original research and assay development.

DEVELOPMENT

CLINICAL PROJECT MANAGER
We are looking for an experienced clinical project manager with strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage early phase clinical trials in the U.K .and Europe. The role will involve management of projects from launch through to completion, ensuring these are kept within budget, maintaining study timelines, managing study documentation and the reporting of adverse events. In addition, the role will involve setting up and monitoring studies to ensure data collection and reporting.

The candidate will be required to have a detailed knowledge of EMEA and ICH-GCP requirements, the drug development process and an understanding of the regulatory environment. Ideal candidates will have a life sciences degree and prior clinical management experience, preferably with oncology studies. Previous Clinical Research Associate (CRA) experience would be an advantage.

ANALYTICAL/ASSAY DEVELOPMENT SENIOR/PRINCIPAL SCIENTIST
Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years’ GMP experience with a proven background in analytical assay development. Ideal candidates will have viral and/or cell biology background and experience in writing and review of SOPs in addition to authoring, performing and reporting assay validation. Experience in stability analysis and setting and justification of specifications would also be favourable.

DEVELOPMENT SCIENTIST / SENIOR SCIENTIST
A development scientist is required to support the improvement/characterisation of our T cell product in response to clinical data.  Knowledge of large-scale T cell culture and flow cytometry is desirable but not essential.

VECTOR PRODUCTION SCIENTIST
A junior scientist is required to produce lentivirus at varying scales for transducing T cells.  Experience of mammalian cell culture is required; a background in virus production is ideal but not essential.
