Adaptimmune—a Philadelphia “Best Place to Work!”

Mary Vila, US HR Director

At Adaptimmune, we design and deliver cell therapies to transform the lives of people with cancer. It is critically important, challenging and rewarding work, and it’s this mission that drives the what, why and how we do our work every day.

Our culture is built around our trust in each other, our bravery in handling both successes and failures, our ability to collaborate effectively, and our honesty. It is through our diverse, collective ideas that we find solutions to the most challenging issues we face in our fight against cancer, and we encourage each other along the way.

We were recently honored to receive a “Best Place to Work” award through the Philadelphia Business Journal (PBJ), following review of direct feedback from our colleagues at the Navy Yard. The award measures various aspects of company culture, including the work environment, opportunities for personal and professional growth, trust in leadership, and the ability to embrace new ideas.

This award reinforces the quality and integrity of our culture, which has grown and strengthened since Adaptimmune opened its Philadelphia office nearly 10 years ago.

We ran the advertisement above in PBJ to celebrate this award. We are lucky to have an environment that celebrates the “why” in our work. It is this shared why – designing and delivering cell therapies for people with cancer – that unites us as a company and makes our work so meaningful. We have the opportunity to truly change the lives of people with cancer, and it doesn’t get much better than that.

Kudos to all our colleagues for making Adaptimmune a best place to work!
